The Breeders

The Breeders have nothing left to prove after their monumental masterpiece of a song, ‘Cannonball’ (1993). The iconic American rock band started out as a way for Kim Deal and Tanya Donnelly to release their unspent creative energy from Pixies and Throwing Muses respectively. After Pixies broke up, Deal made The Breeders her full-time occupation and brought in her sister Kelley along with a brand-new rhythm section. The album ‘Last Splash’ (1993) instantly launched them into alternative rock stardom, earning them platinum in the United States and other medals in Australia, the UK and France. This led to an unsteady career full of changes in styles and line-ups. The original quartet returned for the 30th anniversary of ‘Last Splash’, and, to everyone’s delight, they’re as good as ever.
