The Last Dinner Party
“First play live, then release music.” That was the strategy adopted by The Last Dinner Party, the all-female band from London that has been the talk of the town for months. The approach worked. The five-piece supported Nick Cave, Florence + the Machine and The Rolling Stones before their first single, ‘Nothing Matters’, was out. It was immediately included on the soundtrack of the popular game EA Sports FC 24. This rapid rise is deserved. The Last Dinner Party strikes an enjoyable balance between fun and credibility. Their points of reference include ABBA on one side and Siouxsie and the Banshees and Warpaint on the other, with Kate Bush and David Bowie in between. From the start, the band has been assisted by producer James Ford (Arctic Monkeys, Gorillaz), with whom they have recorded their debut album ‘Prelude to Ecstasy’ (2024).
