Westside Cowboy

Westside Cowboy emerged as one of the standout discoveries of the latest edition of The Great Escape, Europe’s leading showcase festival. The Manchester newcomers swear by vintage instruments and analogue four-track recorders, and sound at first like a distant echo of iconic American indie bands such as Pavement, Pixies and Teenage Fanclub. At the same time, traces of folk and shoegaze give the quartet an unmistakably British character. Westside Cowboy themselves describe this artistic push and pull between the UK and the US as “Britainicana”. Everything about the band points to long-term ambition and big plans. Tellingly, for their debut single “I’ve Never Met Anyone I Thought I Could Really Love (Until I Met You)” (2024), they enlisted Lewis Whiting, guitarist of the acclaimed band English Teacher, as producer.
