Archive

Slow is beautiful. Archive made their debut in 1996 with ‘Londinium’, an atmospheric album as iconic as the fabulous debuts of Massive Attack and Portishead. Peter Gabriel announced he was a fan. The London collective’s sound gradually shifted from trip-hop towards psychedelic rock. Pink Floyd’s influence is seldom far away. They don’t have a real frontman or woman. Central figures Danny Griffiths and Darius Keeler decided to adopt a flexible approach for the sake of the music. Archive’s live reputation is renowned. The French edition of Rolling Stone magazine even called ‘Live At Zenith’ (2007) “thebest live album ever made”. Paris is now home to the band’s many members, who have become a sought-after treat for musical adventurers over the course of nearly three decades.
