Bipady bopity boo... This is the cheerful greeting Ben Ellis uses on his socials. The Welshman is a singer-songwriter who grew up with folk and classical music. He thinks of studying musical theatre at university but quickly abandons that plan. Ellis builds a large fan base - 150,000+ followers - on TikTok with covers of Jeff Buckley, Coldplay and Billy Joel. Always beautifully filmed by his mate Finlay McDonald. In 2023, Ben decides to go all out for a life in music. He moves to Los Angeles to further fine-tune his art with some experienced songwriters he has met online. The EPs The Ed's House (2023) and The Hollywood (2025) get him off to a robust start. The British press is already characterising him as 'one of the loveliest guys in pop today'.
