Lauren Spencer Smith
Lauren Spencer-Smith started trying to make contact with the world at a young age. That might have been because she lived at the edge of the world: she’s from Vancouver Island in the far west of Canada. At the age of eleven, Lauren started posting songs on her YouTube channel, which now has a million subscribers. Her first hit was a version of Lady Gaga’s ‘Always Remember Us This Way’, which she casually knocked out while driving around with her father. Her stint on American Idol 2020 ended without success but generated a lot of attention on social media, and turned out to be the perfect springboard for her first single ‘Fingers Crossed’ (2022). It gained millions of streams within hours. The fifteen autobiographical tales on ‘Mirror’ (2023) predict that Spencer-Smith is here to stay.
