Lauren Spencer Smith

Lauren Spencer-Smith lives in the far west of Canada. It's more or less the end of the world. That may explain why even at a tender age, she was already seeking contact through her - now frequently viewed - YouTube channel. She began by posting covers of Adele, Etta James and Ed Sheeran. When she took part in American Idol in 2020, she reached no more than the last 20. But it did create a big buzz on social media. Lauren paid for the release of her first single with her savings. It was an investment that paid off. ‘Fingers Crossed’ (2022) reached 15 million streams in just its first few hours. The follow-up, ‘Flowers’, and her major debut album Mirror (2023) confirmed her success. She performed the new The Art of Being a Mess (2025) in two sold-out shows at Brussels' Ancienne Belgique concert venue.
