Rock Werchter for festivalgoers with a disability
In collaboration with Inter, Rock Werchter puts in a great effort to make the festival accessible for people with a disability. So we have paid a lot of attention to the accessibility of the festival site and its surroundings.
Accessibility
- No specific ticket is required for the festival. Every visitor must have a valid admission ticket; there are no exceptions or discounts for companions.
- There is an alternative, accessible and less crowded entrance for visitors with a disability. One person is allowed to accompany them through this entrance. Please note: for safety reasons, the alternative exit closes half an hour before the end of the last concert. At that time, you can still leave via the main exit.
- Folding chairs up to 50 cm without backrests are allowed on the festival grounds. For security reasons, it is forbidden to access the front zone with folding chairs.
- Both at the Main Stage, KluB C and The Barn, we have provided viewing platforms for wheelchair users, people with crutches... with a grandstand view of the performing artists. To allow as many people with disabilities as possible, a maximum of one companion is permitted on this platform. For security reasons, it is forbidden to access the front zone with a wheelchair. A power point is provided at the wheelchair platforms for medical reasons.
- During the festival, you can make use of ADL assistants free of charge. Do not hesitate to approach an ADL assistant if you need help. You can find them at the stages designated for people with disabilities. Throughout the festival, you can always call on ADL staff for assistance, free of charge. Do not hesitate to talk to an ADL assistant, whenever you require assistance. You can find them on the festival site at the viewing platforms.
- Accessible toilets are situated all over the festival site and in the reserved ADL camping zone. In the toilet blocks, the accessible toilet is locked (for hygiene reasons). Please speak to a staff member at the sanitary facilities, and they will open the door for you.
- If it is medically necessary, you may bring medication and food/drinks onto the festival grounds. You must submit a request in advance and provide a copy of a doctor’s certificate.
- Pets are not allowed, but assistance dogs (including those in training) are of course permitted. Please ensure you can present a certificate and that the dog is identifiable.
- We provide a low-sensory room: a quiet, low-stimulus space for people who need a break from sensory overload. This will be provided behind the We Care a Lot booth. Please sign in with the staff if you need to take a moment to unwind. They will assist you further.
Camping
- Please note that you need specific camping tickets to stay at The Hive ADL. Please reserve your spot in time, as places are limited (full = full). A maximum of four friends may stay overnight with you at The Hive ADL.
- The Hive ADL campsite is located close to the festival entrance. The Hive ADL opens on Thursday morning at 8 am (NOT ON WEDNESDAY) and closes on Monday at 12 pm. People with a Hive ADL ticket also have access to Central Park.
- All the necessary facilities are present at this camping site so that visitors with a disability can fully enjoy the festival:
Parking
- If you have a (blue) European parking badge and you are in absolute need of a parking space near the festival entrance, please buy a specific parking ticket. Please do so in time, as places are limited (full = full).
- As a wheelchair user, you can take the shuttle bus from Leuven/Aarschot station. These are De Lijn buses and are accessible for wheelchair users. Please note: the drop-off/pick-up point it is approx. 2 km away from the festival entrance. This stop is not close to the entrance, and there is no additional shuttle service.
