The Clockworks

Alan McGee is the high priest of the British music industry. The Scotsman discovered The Jesus and Mary Chain, My Bloody Valentine, Primal Scream and, above all, Oasis. He signed The Clockworks after witnessing the best rehearsal he had seen since… Oasis. He also liked the fact that frontman James McGregor was so intense on stage that he broke his microphone stand in two. That’s a sign of a true star. The four relocated from Galway in Ireland to London and carefully honed their “punk version of The Streets”. Their debut, ‘Exit Strategy’ (2023) was recorded in the famed Abbey Road Studios with Bernard Butler, former Suede guitarist and producer of Duffy and The Libertines. It consists of 13 incredible songs in a style not unlike that of their fellow Irishmen Fontaines D.C. and The Murder Capital.
