STONE hail from Liverpool – the famous breeding ground of bands like Echo & The Bunnymen, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, The La’s, and of course The Beatles. This foursome pays tribute to their city’s storied timeline in their exciting cacophonies. Originally called The Bohos, the group changed their name in 2019. Just before lockdown struck, the missing piece of the puzzle joined up in the form of bassist Sarah Surrage. The loud, rebellious single ‘Money (Hope Ain’t Gone)’ serves as a clear declaration of intent. STONE aims to be ‘the underground voice for the lost youth’, a critical but hopeful megaphone for Gen Z – young people born between 1997 and 2012. With the sing-along ‘If You Wanna’, they are right on course.
