London Grammar

Hannah Reid wanted to be an actress — until she got a message from Dan Rothman. He’d seen a photo of her with a guitar in hand and asked if she’d be up for making music together. Turns out, Reid has an absolutely phenomenal voice. Keyboardist Dominic Major joined them and London Grammar was born. The name was chosen for its international appeal. In 2013, tracks like ‘Strong’ and ‘Wasting My Young Years’ led to a breakout that quickly took them to Rock Werchter. After that lightning-fast start, the band took their time with each album. Partly because Reid struggles with stage fright, partly because they prioritise quality over speed. And it pays off. Their output is consistently breathtaking, and Reid has learned to embrace her inner demons. Today, she’s a powerful frontwoman with one of the most unique voices of recent years.
