James Arthur is one of the greatest hitmakers in recent history. The wonder boy is a member of the club of 29 artists in possession of a BRIT Billion Award. This distinction was introduced last year to honour artists who have accumulated a billion streams in the UK during their career. In his thirties, Arthur joins the likes of Abba, Coldplay and Queen on the list. The award is largely due to the massive hit ‘Say You Won’t Let Go’ (2016), the first of a long list of hits on which he moves smoothly between pop, R&B and soul. His latest album ‘Bitter Sweet Love’ (2024) expresses his desire for a rougher approach. He recorded it with Steve Solomon, the American producer with whom he wrote ‘Say You Won’t Let Go’ years ago.
