Ecca Vandal

Ecca Vandal is the world in one person. Born in South Africa to parents from Sri Lanka, she later moved with her family to Australia – a background that would prove an absolute gift once she began making music. From a young age, Vandal was simultaneously drawn to the artistic freedom of jazz and the anarchic rebellion of punk. It’s no surprise, then, that her personal musical top three includes Björk, Deftones and experimental rock outfit Mr. Bungle. Her debut album was widely hailed as one of the most promising releases of 2017. British music magazine NME identified Vandal as a major talent, praising her for inheriting the Beastie Boys’ explosive mix of hard-hitting music and party energy. Since then, artists like IDLES, Limp Bizkit and Queens of the Stone Age have all gladly taken her out on tour.
