Blood Incantation
Blood Incantation proves that it is still possible to make innovative metal. The group from Denver, USA, does something outrageous with death metal, krautrock and ambient. They themselves call it 'cosmic music for cosmic people'. No wonder, perhaps, that their logo is completely indecipherable and that they love aliens, metaphysics and ancient warriors. The creative implications, however, are stunning. Their latest album, Absolute Elsewhere (2024), was praised by both Metal Hammer magazine and business magazine Forbes. It features six tracks that average seven minutes and can sound like Pink Floyd and Slayer within the same song. The group thinks on a very long-term basis. To put it in their words: ‘We can safely say that Blood Incantation has so far barely shown what it is capable of.’
