Basht.
Basht. is a striking confluence of contradictions. Woven into the DNA of the Dublin quartet are influences as wide-ranging as ABBA, Daft Punk and the metal authority Kerrang! The father of singer-guitarist Jack Leavey spent years running the multi-award-winning Temple Bar Music Centre, now known as Button Factory. The band’s distinctive name emerged from a brainstorming session between Leavey and guitarist Sam Duffy. ‘We landed on “unabashed”. There’s more beneath the surface than you might expect at first glance – and that’s exactly what we’re trying to do musically’. Drawing freely from hip-hop, grunge, new wave and classic rock, Basht. aim for musical perfection within the confines of a three-minute song. The new year sees the band head out on their first headline tour across Ireland and the UK.
