Yseult
Yseult is a key figure in French rap, part of a new wave blending hip-hop with variété and trap. The young Yseult Marie Ongenet always knew she just wanted to sing, so she entered every talent competition on French TV. And she nailed it. In 2013, she was discovered on Nouvelle Star, the French version of Idol. Her first album with a major record company didn’t hit the mark so Yseult broke her contract and launched her own brand. Enter Y.Y.Y., where she drops her unique Y-trap sound. From the ballad ‘Corps’ (2019) onwards, there’s no stopping her. By July 2024, she becomes the first Black French woman to chart in the US, and just a month later she closes the Olympic Games in Paris with her version of ‘My way’.
