Royel Otis
Royel Maddell and Otis Pavlovic grew up close to each other in Byron Bay, a sunny coastal town in eastern Australia. Their friendship blossomed when Royel found some of Otis' demos in his mailbox. It led to the collaboration he had always hoped for. They didn’t have to look hard for a name. In January 2024, the indie duo found itself on a Grammy Awards list of 25 Artists to Watch in 2024. 'Murder on the Dancefloor', an old song by British singer-songwriter Sophie Ellis-Bextor, brought Royel Otis to the attention of the world. Soon after, they also covered the Cranberries' 'Linger'. After that, things moved fast. Including here in Belgium. In November 2024, they gave their first concert on Belgian soil at Trix in Antwerp. A year later they filled Vorst Nationaal. Warmly recommended for fans of MGMT and The Strokes.
