Chezile

Chezile (pronounced ‘Che-zill’) is the artist name of Alejandro Sanchez. The American singer-songwriter has already amassed more than half a billion streams with “Beanie” (2023), a modest, intimate song about unrequited love. It serves as a blueprint for the music Sanchez wants to make: melancholic and slightly psychedelic music that gets under your skin – warm like soul, with the restless edge of jazz. The global response to “Beanie” gave him the time and space to tinker with what came next. A turbulent period of sleeping in cars and staying in Airbnb rentals finally came to an end. Working alone in San Diego, this gentle soul put together the compelling calling card Alē (2025). For the record: the name Chezile is borrowed from a skateboard trick.
