Bente
Bente Fokkens from Amsterdam stands out as a young teenager during The Voice Kids with a cover of Anouk's “Lost”. Soon after, she trades music for acting work in films and television series. But it remains her great love. In the shadows, she learns to play guitar and pens her own songs. “Nee is Nee” (2021), a protest song against sexual harassment, is her first serious musical venture. The dam then breaks completely in the late summer of 2025: “Hoe hou ik dit vast”, a collaboration with BLØF, reaches the Top 10. Participation in the television programme Beste zangers (Best Singers) does the rest. “Kan je me zien”, her adaptation of Cher's “Believe”, has already reached 2 million views on YouTube. It earns her admission to the imposing armada of new Dutch singers. Like Froukje, Maan or S10, Bente sings in her mother tongue.
