Balu Brigada

They were actually meant to be called Baloo. After the lovable bear from The Jungle Book. But unfortunately, that was reckoning without Disney. Baloo became Balu. To which Henry and Pierre Beasley then added Brigada as a phonetic titbit. The brothers from Auckland, New Zealand, are equal creative partners. They sing together, they write together and they also produce together. Their speciality: energetic alternative pop with catchy hooks. They both think the world should definitely know about their talent. And so, in 2023, they swap the fairly remote Auckland for worldly New York. Balu Brigada cracked US radios a year later with “So cold”. The follow-up, “Backseat”, a fuzz record along the lines of Tame Impala, becomes the alternative summer hit of 2025.
