Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes

On stage, Frank Carter goes at it like he’s announcing the end of the world. The red-haired punk even lashes out wildly during love songs. The British musician screamed his way into the world of music in 2005 with Gallows. The hardcore band signed a major-label contract worth a million pounds but were politely shown the door after a year and a half. Carter headed for New York where he founded Pure Love, an alliance with guitarist Jim Carroll (The Hope Conspiracy, Suicide File). The pair left their noisy pasts behind and started making alternative rock instead. It was all too soft for Carter. He recruited three companions - The Rattlesnakes – and returned to the racket of his early days. Even so, his latest album ‘Dark Rainbow’ (2024) has audibly more finesse and melody than before. Hard yet heartfelt.
