Arctic Monkeys at Rock Werchter 2023

Tickets go on sale on Saturday 29 October

Is it summer yet? Rock Werchter today unveils another headline act for next year’s festival. Arctic Monkeys will play the Festivalpark in Werchter (Belgium) next summer. On Sunday 2 July they will headline on the Main Stage. Arctic Monkeys’ new album, The Car, will be released this week. Last week, on radio stations Studio Brussel and NPO 3FM, they treated a small group of fans and listeners to an exclusive and particularly tasty showcase in Brussels. The group is on top form, and again ready for the biggest stages.

Rock Werchter 2023 will take place at the Festivalpark in Werchter from Thursday 29 June to Sunday 2 July, 2023. As previously announced, Stromae will headline on the opening day of the festival. Ticket sales will start next week, on Saturday 29 October, at 10 am CET. More names for Rock Werchter 2023 will be announced soon.

Arctic Monkeys are Alex Turner, Jamie Cook, Nick O’Malley and Matt Helders. The band formed in 2002 in Sheffield, England. In 2006 they wrote music history with their impressive debut album, Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not. The release of five further albums has consolidated their position as one of the most successful British bands of recent years. They have amassed staggering streaming figures, a cabinet filled with the most prestigious awards, and a digital fanbase of over 30 million followers. Their seventh album, The Car, will be released on Friday 21 October, 2022.

Arctic Monkeys played Werchter for the first time in 2006. The audience embraced them, never to let go. After their headlining show at Rock Werchter 2018, Belgian newspaper De Morgen wrote: “Arctic Monkeys closed Rock Werchter with the perfect festival concert. Averse to trends. Averse to the weight of rock and roll history. With two feet forward and their gaze dazed. Top-notch.”
