Few bands are as eclectic in their tastes as Wolf Alice. The north London foursome are avid collectors of all things great from the 90s: My Bloody Valentine, Pixies, The Sundays, Lush, Elastica, Sonic Youth… Shall we say the best of grunge and shoegaze? They add folk and electronica as seasoning. Ellie Rowsel's subtle vocals make all the difference. British music rag, NME, gave their debut album ‘My Love Is Cool’ (2015) an excellent review: ‘Easily the debut of the decade so far’! Nominations and awards came in from all directions and every conceivable competition: Brit Awards, Mercury Prize, Grammy Awards. There was just no end to it. On the new ‘Visions Of A Life’ (2017) album the band shows how easily it copes with this luxuriance. Better indie pop would be hard to find these days. The NME again: ‘Best band in Britain? 100 per cent’.
