The Marcus King Band is an alliance of long-haired, bearded youngsters who play soulful rock ’n’ roll. The band's namesake is just 22 but has been in the business for almost 10 years. It's a genetic thing. Marcus is the son of Marvin King, a well-known name in blues circles. His other mentors are impressive too. Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks played with The Allman Brothers Band for years. The debut album of The Marcus King Band appeared on Haynes' personal label. ‘Soul insight’ (2014) was the beginning of a tour that will clearly never end. The concerts are hot affairs, thanks in part to three horns that lift the bluesy rock to another level. ‘Caroline Confessions’ (2018) should establish the band's name outside the United States. A notable guest is Dan Auerbach (The Black Keys), who co-wrote the song ‘How long’.
