The 1975

The 1975 is one of the bands that matter today. These Mancunian indie rockers took their name from a collection of verses by the American, Jack Kerouac. Their main musical influences were from the 80s: the likes of Peter Gabriel, Michael Jackson and My Bloody Valentine. The four started jamming at secondary school and see those longstanding ties as their greatest strength. Their untitled debut album charted at number one in the UK. Next step, world fame. Half the planet fell in love with, ‘I like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it’ (2016). It's actually number one in the US, with the longest title ever (71 characters). This autumn The 1975 usher in a new era, 'Music for Cars', on the back of two albums and "...the most incredible live show in the world...". That's a promise.
