Sum 41 are legends to the generation raised on blink-182, Good Charlotte and Green Day. The band was formed on the 41st day of the summer of 1996, which is what inspired their name. Unlike their contemporaries, the Canadians have always been die-hard punks and unpredictable outsiders. They were the first rock band to sign for the pre-eminent hip hop label Def Jam, who saw in them a wild(er) version of the Beastie Boys. Even wilder perhaps, is that they're one of the few bands that Liam Gallagher, of Oasis fame, has ever expressed admiration for. The band are as fresh as they were when they started playing NOFX covers, nearly a quarter of a century ago. And the fire still burns in sing-alongs like ‘Fatlip’ , ‘Waiting’ and ‘In Too Deep’.
Due to having two shows this day, Sum 41 will play an early set at Rock Werchter 2022.
