In March of last year Gary Lightbody posted the reassuring news on Instagram that Snow Patrol was working on its seventh album. Phew! The trail had gone cold on Snow Patrol after Rock Werchter 2012. The inspiration had gone, leaving a big writer’s block. But don’t give up, and keep writing – that was the message. In 2006, Scots/Irish band Snow Patrol rose to worldwide fame, after banging on the door for more than a decade. That was thanks to their brilliant hit, Chasing Cars. Then, they took off like a runaway train. Eyes Open was the best-selling album in the UK in 2006 and the band went on tour with Coldplay and U2. Shut Your Eyes, Take Back The City and Just Say Yes became international anthems. Between them, they garnered 11 million worldwide album sales. Now Snow Patrol is back, full of ambition. And back in Werchter too.
