Kacey Musgraves does amazing things. The young Texan singer is currently the megastar and the leading light of country, a genre not widely known for its female role models. Alison Krauss, Emmylou Harris and Dolly Parton aside, there are few strong women on the scene today. It looks like Musgraves is also managing to bring country to a new and broader audience. Her latest album ‘Golden hour’ (2018) won Best Country Album and Album of the Year at the Grammy Awards. The second ever to do that. Equally amazing: alternative music site Pitchfork nominated ‘Golden hour’ as the second best album of 2018. But that's hardly surprising. Her sweet alternative country and sparkling melodies are as bewitching as the best of Beck and Sufjan Stevens.
