Glints is Jan Maarschalk Lemmens. Raised in Antwerp and blessed with a delightful British accent thanks to relatives in London. He rose to the surface as resident artist at the AB in Brussels in 2016. His music is described as ‘fresh shit that reconciles elements from hip-hop, electronica and pop’. Live, Lemmens is a first-class rapper, singer and compere. His first release, ‘Choir-boy’ (2020), made reference to his musical early days, when he sang in the children’s choir at Opera Ballet Vlaanderen. He was dropped a few years later but, deep inside, Glints has always been that choirboy of bygone days. In 2020 he was involved in founding Abattoir Anvers, a creative collective that resides in a former halal abattoir in the south of Antwerp. He co-hosts a programme on Studio Brussel with his housemates Faisal and Yong Yello.
