The current rulers of the Australian rock scene. Gang Of Youths blew all comers away during the most recent ARIA Music Awards. The group won four out of the eight nominations: Best Band, Best Album, Best Rock Album and Best Production. That was their second album, ‘Go Farther in Lightness’ (2017). It kept Ed Sheeran and Queens Of The Stone Age off the number one spot in the charts. It’s 80 minutes long and is destined to unleash big emotions in big masses of people. Think of The National, Bruce Springsteen and U2. Gang Of Youths are currently operating from London. But they are still, undeniably, Aussies. The band’s make-up is unusual: 1/5 New Zealander, 1/5 Polish-Australian, 1/5 Jewish-Samoan, 1/5 Korean-American and 1/5 Fijian.
