The current rulers of the Australian rock scene. Gang Of Youths blew everyone away in 2017 at the ARIA Music Awards ceremony. The group took four of the eight nominations: Best Band, Best Album, Best Rock Album and Best Production. That record was ‘Go Farther in Lightness’ (2017). An eighty-minute piece that kept Ed Sheeran off the top of the charts. New release ‘Angel in Realtime’ (2022) also seems likely to untether great emotions in masses of people, in the way the likes of Bruce Springsteen and U2 do. Gang Of Youths operate from London at present. But the five members remain unapologetically Australian. Their roots are exotic: a New Zealander, a Polish-Australian, a Jewish-Samoan, a Korean-American and a Fijian.
