Emma Bale was only 17 when she won the Best Female Solo category at the Flemish MIA music awards in 2016. That makes her the youngest winner ever. Back then, she was a delicate girl with an acoustic guitar and smash hits like ‘Fortune cookie’ (with Milow), ‘All I want’ (a Kodaline cover) and ‘Run’. And then almost everything changed. After a complete make-over, the once fragile singer-songwriter transformed into a pop princess in line with Florence + The Machine, Ellie Goulding and Dua Lipa. The new Bale introduced herself at Werchter two years ago with a 30-minute set which left quite an impression. ‘Emma Bale is steadily becoming a credible pop star. This won’t be the last you hear of her’, concluded newspaper De Morgen. She has completed the formative phase. Beautiful things are about to happen.
