Elbow is one of Rock Werchter’s house bands. The band grew under the festival’s wing and has been on an incredible journey since then. The quartet from Manchester debuted in 2006 with an ethereal concert in what was then the Pyramid Marquee. The crowd embraced Elbow that afternoon and has never let go. The reason? Solid, timeless songs with a healthy dose of pathos and the particularly congenial front man, Guy Garvey. Their first Werchter was soon followed by their great breakthrough with ‘The Seldom Seen Kid’ (2008). The record won the coveted Mercury Music Prize and sold over a million copies. Many more albums followed, with more beautiful songs. Elbow will perform for the sixth time at Werchter in 2019 and will play favourites from the past two decades.
