British brothers Guy and Howard Lawrence are experts in refined dance pop. They hit the ground running with their blend of deep house, UK garage and electro. Connoisseurs elevated their debut ‘Settle’ (2013) to the same lofty heights as ‘Random Access Memories’ by Daft Punk. ‘This record proves that there is still dance music with brains’ wrote a British music publication. ‘Settle’ was nominated for the Grammy Award in the Best Dance Album category. As was its successor, ‘Caracal’ (2015). The guest list included names like Lorde, The Weeknd, Gregory Porter and friend Sam Smith. In 2017, the duo announced a sabbatical and took their time with it. ‘Energy’ (2020) seemed to have been released at the wrong time – with all the clubs shut down – but turned out to be an ideal placeholder until the party can resume.
