Curtis Harding

After years in the shadow of Cee-Lo Green, Curtis Harding joined forces with Cole Alexander, guitarist of the garage punk band Black Lips, to give free rein to their shared passion for vintage soul in the trio Night Sun. After recording the first single Harding was invited to make a solo album. Recorded in two weeks, ‘Soul Power’ (2014) was a total miss. But, like a disco ball, Harding's talent shone through. Everything came to fruition on ‘Face Your Fear’ (2017). Superman Danger Mouse (Adele, Black Keys, Gorillaz) took care of the impressive prelude, ‘Wednesday Morning Atonement’. Then rising star, Sam Cohen, known for his work with Kevin Morby and Trixie Whitley, created a record which pivots cleverly at the point where soul meets funk and seventies rock. A crossover reminiscent of the heady days of Curtis Mayfield and Shuggie Otis.
