One fine day, musical geeks Andy Ferguson and Matt McBriar of Belfast decide to start their own blog. On Feel My Bicep, the two of them talk about forgotten house, techno and Italo disco, and their record collecting soon escalates to getting behind the turntables. In 2012, DJ Mag names the duo as the Best of British Breakthrough DJ. Soon they are no longer just playing records, they are making them. In 2014, Andy and Matt move to London and set up their own studio. Bicep finds a home with reputable record label Ninja Tune, who also represent Bonobo, Helena Hauff and Jordan Rakei. On ‘Bicep’ (2017) and ‘Isles’ (2021) they write up a glowing resumé of the vast wealth of British dance culture. Live, Bicep are all about euphoria. Their invigorating house is illustrated by an incredible avalanche of imagery. Pure class.
