Adrenaline! Amyl and the Sniffers are the party of the moment. The critics don't lie. ‘The best that Australia has to offer today’ and ‘the single most exhilarating rock ’n’ roll show in years’. The band started out as a joke and became less serious with every performance. They get their witty riffs and controversial jokes from British punk legends like Discharge and UK Subs. Add in some Australian Seventies pub rock, and you’ve got their sound. The main attraction is singer Amy Taylor, a singing contortionist who seems to have hatched in the same battery cage as Yolandi Visser of Die Antwoord. Craziness is a way of survival. Worth bearing in mind, Amyl and the Sniffers released their debut album on Flightless Records, the label of those other weirdoes from Melbourne: King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard.
