As already announced, Arcade Fire and Kings of Leon play the festival on the same day. Radiohead on Friday 30 June, Blink-182, Linkin Park and System of A Down on Saturday 1 July. On Sunday 2 July Alt-J and Foo Fighters take to the stage. Rock Werchter 2017 takes place at the Festivalpark in Werchter, from Thursday 29 June to Sunday 2 July.
The story goes that Imagine Dragons is an anagram of the band’s former name, but the Las Vegas four won’t ever give it away. It’s a strong teaser, but they’ve never really needed it. Imagine Dragons have been the talk of the town since the very beginning. Their record-breaking debut album, ‘Night Visions’ (2012), sold like hotcakes; singles ‘Radioactive’ and ‘Demons’ stayed in the American charts for over a year. In fact, ‘Radioactive’ charted for a record 87 weeks. The secret of their success: alternative rock on the wavelength of Foster the People and new style Mumford & Sons. Deep bass, pounding drums and Dan Reynolds’ powerful voice. They played Rock Werchter the first time in 2014, and sold out Vorst Nationaal/Forest National in 2015. The third album is in the pipeline. The only way is up. Imagine Dragons play Rock Werchter on Thursday 29 June.
