First the gossip: Wiz Khalifa is nowadays linked to Amber Rose, Kanye West’s ex. This is one of the nice little perks of his newfound fame. Cameron Thomaz is from Pittsburgh and has rapped since childhood. From 2005 on, he released mixtapes that went down well. His first recorded work was less popular. The tide turned when he released his tape ‘Krush and Orange Juice’ for free on the internet. This gem was downloaded by millions. MTV USA called it the Top Mixtape Of 2010 while the hip-hop magazine The Source named Khalifa Rookie of the Year. Every door opened for him and the hit single ‘Black and Yellow’ opened them even further. The video was watched on YouTube almost 100 million times. His ‘Rolling Papers’ (2011) album made him the man of the year in the world of hip-hop. He’s even been given the seal of approval of no other than Snoop Dogg. His name? Wiz comes from wisdom, and Khalifa is an Arabian word for successor.
