The All-American Rejects
THURSDAY - MAIN STAGE
So much more than just another American teenage pop punk band. The All-American Rejects are related to Better Than Ezra, Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance and other Simple Plans. In the initial line-up Jesse Tabish was singer and guitarist. He left the band after the first demos and chose to walk a completely different path with Other Lives (also at Rock Werchter 2012). Bass player Tyson Ritter became the band’s new voice. Shortly after that important switch things got serious. The major DreamWork Records (also housing Eels, Jimmy Eat World, George Michael) signed the band and launched them throughout America. As of ‘Move Along’ (2005) things settled down. On the sophomore album guitarist Mike Kennerty and drummer Chris Gaylor made their official entry. It contained three hit singles (‘Dirty Little Secret’, ‘Move Along’ and ‘It Ends Tonight’) and transformed The All-American Rejects from a phenomenon to a household name. The band were already ten years old when they came to our country for the first time in 2009. At Werchter they will present their fourth album ‘Kids In The Street’ (2012).
