Skrillex
THURSDAY - PYRAMID MARQUEE
Talk about a flying start. In 2010, Sonny John Moore sent out the first Skrillex demo. In November 2011 he was nominated for 5 Grammy Awards. In April 2012 he played the Lotto Arena in Antwerp. His musical route is equally breathtaking. The lad from Los Angeles became the singer of the successful post-hardcore group From First To Last at the age of sixteen. He went solo after two albums. Moore unexpectedly stopped work on his debut and switched from heavy metal to dance. Skrillex was immediately hailed as the new god of dubstep. They all came knocking: Deadmau5, Lady Gaga and Korn too. He has since set up his own record label - from singer-songwriter acts to electro – and is working on a record with the British metal core group Bring Me The Horizon. The dawning of a new musical era? Then Moore’s our man.
