Mumford and Sons
SATURDAY - MAIN STAGE
‘The home you can trust’ their name seems to say. The band surrounding Marcus Mumford do not disappoint their clients. Mumford & Sons found no less than four million satisfied earthlings for their debut ‘Sigh No More’ (2009). It contained even more lifting and cheerful music that tends towards bluegrass, country and folk, full of accordions, banjos and contrabass. Traditional folk music from the London metropolitan. Together with Noah and The Whale (also at Rock Werchter 2012) and Laura Marling, Mumford & Sons are catalogued as the ‘West London folk scene’. After the first surprise and after having toured for a year and a half, the time to confirm had come. In August 2011 the band were finally able to start work on their second album. In an interview they spilled the beans: it would become a crossing between Black Sabbath and Nick Drake. A tall story? We look forward to Mumford & Sons. What about you?
