Mac Miller

Mac Miller

SUNDAY - PYRAMID MARQUEE

Malcolm ‘Mac’ Miller Mc Cormick forms the front of the latest American rap batch together with Wiz Khalifa. They both live in Pittsburgh and know each other very well. Miller wrote his first lyrics at the age of 15. And he looked at the right examples for it: Beastie Boys, Outkast, Lauryn Hill and A Tribe Called Quest. The best of the best in other terms. With an enormous amount of enthusiasm he learned how to play the piano, the guitar and drums. At the age of 18 he had already signed his first record deal. A year later he touched the soul of the American youth with songs like ‘Nikes On My Feet’ and ‘Donald Trump’. His stories about skating, alcohol and drugs are recognisable and appealing. Miller is straightforward but never bitter. His first LP ‘Blue Slide Park’ immediately took the top spot in the American charts in November 2011. It had already been 20 years since a debut album on a minor label managed to do that.  Mac Miller just turned 20. He’s a prodigy.
