James Morrison

James Morrison

SUNDAY - THE BARN

Life can be beautiful. James Morrison’s first single was an instant mega hit. ‘You Give Me Something’ (2006) became # 5 in the British charts and also caught on in Australia, Japan and most of Europe. Subsequently the debut album ‘Undiscovered’ (2006) came and he turned out to be the most successful male artist of the year in Great Britain. The reason is very simple: the album did not feature songs that were of less quality. Neither did the two albums that followed since. Morrison is considered an excellent performer of romantic, soulful ballads. In that category ‘Broken Strings’ (2008), a duet with Nelly Furtado, is his biggest hit. On the third album ‘The Awakening’ (2011) the man slightly changed things around. He did not only want to sing about love. The death of his father strongly influenced the songs. For a while he – finally – considered writing songs himself. For now that still is a bridge too far. But time is on his side. Morrison still has to turn 28.
