Garbage

Garbage

THURSDAY - THE BARN

‘This sounds like garbage’. That was how a friend of the band described their first musical experiments. And that’s how Garbage got their name. The three founding members have their musical origins in nondescript American rock bands. However, drummer Butch Vig enjoyed world renown as the producer of ‘Nevermind’ (1991) by Nirvana and ‘Gish’ (1991) by Smashing Pumpkins. The trio took on the Scottish Shirley Manson as frontwoman. Garbage became an alternative success during the mid-90s. Strong pop songs with a sharp edge sung by a feisty singer. ‘Stupid Girl’, ‘Only Happy When It Rains’ and ‘I Think I’m Paranoid’ show no songs or aging 15 years on. The radio is always happy to play their hits. They took a break in 2003 and have been off and on since then. They released the album ‘Bleed Like Me’ in 2005 and played Rock Werchter. After that they slipped off the radar once more. Now, they will present their latest album 'Not Your Kind Of People' at Rock Werchter!
