On 11 March 2016 Bazart proudly announced that they had been invited to Rock Werchter. Two days earlier the group had sold out concert in Ancienne Belgique for a first time. These were the first clear confirmations of one of Belgium’s biggest success stories in recent years. The real breakthrough came with ‘Goud’, the second single from the EP ‘Bazart’ (2015). It did not take long before all the radio stations were playing it and everyone was roaring “liever snel naar de hel dan traag naar de hemel”. The papers see ‘an overfull KluB C’ and ‘mass hysteria’ at Werchter. A dream of a festival summer follows, the album ‘Echo’ (2016) warms up the autumn. It was the first Belgian debut ever to enter the Ultratop at number one. The reason for that can be found in the first sentence of their mini-bio on Facebook. “Bazart is anything but an ordinary Dutch band”. Duly noted.
