Where to camp?

Campsites and car parks are located around the edges of the festival site, alongside the 3 main access roads into Werchter. There are about 20 of them, divided into 3 zones:

  • Zone A alongside the access road from Haacht (only accessible via Haacht).
  • Zone B alongside the acces road from Rotselaar (only accessible via E313 and via Rotselaar).
  • Zone C alongside the Betekom-Werchter road, and alongside the Werchter ring (only accessible via Tremelo and Aarschot)

Warning: Werchter bridge, where three approach roads meet, is closed off to all traffic. Bear this in mind when you try to reach a particular car park or camping.

Campsite tickets

It is only possible to camp out in the vicinity of the Festival Park if you can produce both a festival- and campsite ticket.

Two types of campsite tickets are available:  the regular campsite ticket and the campsite xl ticket.

Regular campsite ticket: A regular camp-site ticket costs 18 euro (cost for postage – if applicable – and handling not included) in advance, regardless of the length of stay. This campsite ticket is valid as from Thursday morning June 28, 8am until Monday July 2 at noon. The regular camp-site ticket is valid for use at the camp site of one's choice. The ticketbuyer can opt for a classic ticket or an e-ticket.

Campsite xl ticket: This ticket enables you to come and stay at campsites A2, A3 and A4 as from Wednesday June 27 at 4pm. The ticket remains valid until Monday July 2 at noon.  Please do keep in mind that only 3 camp sites will open on Wednesday, so the availability of xl tickets is limited. A campsite xl ticket can only be ordered as e-ticket and cost 25 euro (handling cost not included) in advance.

Important:
Please bear in mind that you need to buy one campsite ticket per person and not per tent!

Important:
campsites are operated by local organizations, not by the festival organizers.

Upon arrival at a campsite, you will be given a campsite wristband on production of both a valid campsite and festival ticket. The campsite ticket will be scanned. This wristband does not only guarantee you a spot at that particular camping facility, it also features the number of the facility, so you should never have a hard time finding your campsite and tent. Each facility has a different manager and they are not interlinked at all. In other words, a wristband of facility A1 does not allow you to stay at facility A3 and vice versa. The manager will not let you in or make you buy a new ticket + wristband. We urge you to agree on which camping facility you and your friends would like to stay before coming to Werchter.

Practical campsite information

SHOWERS AND LAVATORIES ON THE CAMPING
The local councils of Haacht and Rotselaar have ordered all campsite supervisors to provide free washing facilities (taps) & toilet paper and a sufficient amount of free lavatories on their campsites. They are allowed, however, to charge for extra facilities such as showers. Contact the local campsite manager if you have any complaint about the condition of the sanitary facilities.

DRINKING WATER
All campsite managers are required to make the necessary arrangements measures to provide campers with fresh drinking-water (free of charge).

FESTIVAL SHOP
No need and totally unnecessary to carry around a heavy backpack full of food. Check out the festival shop, organised by Carrefour, at campsite A3, where you can find all the products you need to survive four days of Rock Werchter at affordable prices. Since 2011, you can find another small shop at the bridge in Werchter.

SAFETY
Every campsite is divided into zones, which are marked out by means of fluorescent ribbon. All tents must be set up in the proper spots. Between the zones, fire lanes have been foreseen. These need to remain clear at all times. Tents in the fire lane will be removed immediately by the campsite responsibles. Follow their instructions!

AVOID THEFT
Good advice: leave your valuable stuff at home. And whatever you do, don’t leave them in your tent, unguarded. None of the organizing parties (campsite supervisor, festival organizer, local authorities) can be held responsible for possible theft. Should you decide to take valuables along, you can always store them in the Safelockers at the Festival Park.

TRASH
In order to keep the campsites as clean as possible, each camper will receive a bin liner on arrival. The idea is to leave it behind (full) when you leave, on a dedicated place.

MOBILE PHONES
All mobile-phone operators (Proximus, Mobistar and Base) will provide a temporary increase of capacity during the festival. This means you should not be confronted with overloaded networks. Please contact your mobile-phone operator, should this be the case.

FIRST AID
The Red Cross and MUG (Medical Urgency Team) Leuven have people on shift in all camping areas.

LOST AND FOUND
All found objects are taken to a Police office at the information stand at Werchter bridge. Whatever is not claimed during the festival, will be taken to the town hall of Rotselaar. Any lost object can be claimed there as from Monday July 2 at noon.

CAMPSITE RELIABILITY
Rock Werchter’s campsites are run by local associations, not by the festival’s organizers. The latter cannot be held responsible for any abuse on campsites. Complaints should be lodged with the campsite supervisor. Of course, problems may be pointed out to the local authorities of Haacht or Rotselaar ánd to the festival organizers as well. All camping-related matters are co-ordinated by the local councils of Haacht and Rotselaar. They have drawn up the rules with regard to pricing, opening hours, number of toilets, wrist bands, illumination, firebreaks, cleaning...

Friends and relatives... of disabled festivalgoers wishing to stay at this campsite are welcome at this facility as well (with a maximum of 4 people). Just like any other camping facility, this one requires a valid campsite ticket. At the reserved camping facility, there is an assistance tent, where you can leave and pick up your wheelchair at night. Furthermore, there are adapted toilets, aids like a hoist, a nursing bed, a toilet stool...You can also count on free assistance by licensed carers for e.g. setting up a tent, toilet and food assistance, transport. Do not hesitate to turn to one of the licensed carers whenever you need help. Should you own a European (blue) parking card and should you really get into trouble if you do not find a parking space close to the festival ground, then you can leave your car at this camping facility. But bear in mind that we expect people with a disability who wish to use this service, and who possess a valid festival ticket, to contact us no later than Wednesday June 13th
